Yesterday I found myself writing an email to a friend in Canada...
Needless to say, these 72 little ones are keeping us busy but we love it. We're happier than ever and stretched in every way. We're certainly learning a lot. It's an adventure of a lifetime and one I wouldn't trade for the world...
This week I wanted to share just a few of the simple treasures that have made us feel blessed recently.
Lately, we received a donation of winter jackets. Winter jackets in Africa, you say? Are you nuts? Nope. Believe it or not, in the winter months in can get quite cool at night, especially for Mozambicans who are used to the heat. Few people would ever think of winter jackets for our kids so we were overjoyed to receive enough to pass out to the whole dorm. Flora is loving her new jacket and couldn't be happier!
Mr. Richmond let the girls style his hair this week. It was quite the event; I haven't heard so many giggles and shrieks of joy in a while. (For more about this and how Mr. Richmond manages to survive when surrounded by girls, check out our latest entry on our personal blog: 72 Daughters VS Hockey)
This week we had a Japanese-Australian visitor who spent hours teaching our girls how to do origami and cats-cradle. The girls had a blast learning about different cultures and it was a fantastic way for some of the girls to work on their weak fine motor skills.
Lastly, taking silly selfies with these three goofballs--I can't think of any other way I would rather spend my days!
Got any questions about life here in Mozambique? Let us know, we would love to let you know more in our coming posts!
